Events at Postojna Cave, Karst and Slovenia

The Karst region is more than only a landscape, it is not defined only by ˝pršut˝ (smoked ham) , the red wine Teran or the Bora wind, also not by its branched and immense underworld, geographical characteristics or stone villages. The Karst are above all the people. A man gives its cultural and historical value to a landscape, he can appreciate its nature beauties, protect and admire it. In our company tourist Destination Kras we try therefore to ensure that all nature and cultural monuments of Karst also revive.

Destination Karst

In Slovenia there are almost 7,500 known and explored Karst caves. In addition to the Postojna Cave network, Planinska Cave and the cave under Predjama Castle, there are more than 20 caves open or partially opened to tourists (visits are possible under certain restrictions). Destination Karst is not only represented by Karst caves and other Karst phenomena: Destination Karst is a rapidly developing tourist resort situated in a geographical area where the Notranjska, Karst, Brkin, Vipava valley, Idrijsko-Cerkljansko and Rovtarsko regions join.
